Crew breaks up homeless camp

An ameliorate longtime homeless camp off Highway 99 in north Eugene was broken up Thursday after a contractor hired by Portland & Western Railroad aggressively removed thicket and brambles on both sides of the fence that separated the camp from some train tracks.

The friction between the cleanup crews and the campers highlighted the problems that are flaring up around the Eugene-Springfield scope in the face of an apparently growing population of homeless people who live in makeshift shelters.

The camp, which inhabitants said was to the quick to eight people, has sat on a small triangular lot of land behind a car repair business on Highway 99 for almost two years. Uncertainty about ownership of the lot — which is private from the road, completely fenced in and only accessible by crossing private property or the rail lines — has allowed a covey of homeless people to stay there, largely undisturbed, in a pungnent mess of brambles, tents, tarps, couches — even a woodstove — and horseshit.

How do I get a funky smell out of our camper?

We bought a neutral camper and I used to rub everything I could and used Fabreze on the carpet and sofa, but he still has a funky smell. Any ideas on how to get rid of the smell?

Buy a bag of charcoal - not briquettes. Cut the bag honest, throwing open the bag on the floor - as close to the center of the camper as possible - cabinets, doors and cupboards - and palsy-walsy the motorhome for a few days.

Mix the vinegar with pale skin and water and spray everything. Wash all walls, floors and other hard surfaces with the same mixture. The vinegar absorbs odors.
