Palmer's 3rd building shaping up for Feb. opening
Construction is continued at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange on its third building set to be dedicated during homecoming in February.
The first level of the two-assertion, $4 million building will include a large cafeteria with added features and a more varied menu. Increased capacity also will provide a panoramic view of the campus, including an outdoor patio overlooking the pond, according to spokesman Ted Nikolla, communications master for Palmer College.
The remaining space on the first level will be used for a new and larger bookstore. The second level will embody a large meeting area capable of being partitioned into three smaller meeting rooms and is designed to seat a utmost of 500 people. It will be utilized for meetings, continuing education classes, homecoming activities and graduation ceremonies for smaller classes.
According to the college's helmsman of institutional support, George Bertish, the new building, which is 14,000 square feet, will provide students with a chief focus point for student activities.
