Row-boat shows are the prime marketing platform for the marine industry particularly the yachting sector where the display of the latest superyachts “creations” along the show’s carpeted quaysides gives the presentation a taste of luxury and prestige.

Equipment manufacturers, shipyards, service providers, naval architects, brokers, splendour brands, and refit and repair entities make the main line of businesses represented at such shows which also allure marine publications and various nautical interrelated organisations.

Malta’s yachting industry knows its origin way back in the 1960s which brought in its wake the background up of a number of companies offering various services to this “new” style of pleasure boating. The island was well geared in handling naval vessels and commercial ships, from put back in yards to electronic navigational aids, electrical engineers, and chandlery, but yachting definitely required a more proper approach, which became more demanding and refined
