Sofa so good in Maria Caruso dance 'Sectional Sentiments'

I have often said that I like my autobiography to be direct and my art to be oblique. So how to elevate the sofa, an intimate part of every American household, to an artistic plane?
The Pillow Project indeed performs in a constantly changing arrangement of living room furniture, and the Pittsburgh company has tumbled over and around an overstuffed day-bed.
But Bodiography's Maria Caruso had other ideas in mind for "Sectional Sentiments," a "theatrical installation" that centered around a mainly, black leather sofa. (Think bachelor pad.) Ms. Caruso has called the sofa a "place of comfort, a place of rest, a unsuitable of confrontation, a place of reflection, a place for family and friends and sometimes it is a place for complete strangers."
"Sectional Sentiments" was all that increased by a hot spot to "make out" Friday at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, where Ms. Caruso was choreographer in residence.
"So let's party." That was the hypothesize as a trio of young women set up for an apparent social gathering, assuming that this was their apartment.
